EPISODE RECAP

Grandparents have a unique opportunity previous generations never had: They have the chance to have greater influence in the lives of their grandchildren. These days, many grandparents spend more time with their grandkids than their grandparents did with them growing up, giving them more chances to engage this new generation in a meaningful way.

How grandparents can widen the circle of influence

Parenting is hard, but sharing with grandparents the burdens and joys of raising children can be beneficial to the whole family. Grandparents can speak life into their grandkids, showing them life doesn’t get boring and there are adventures to be had even as you grow older.

Grandparents can also leverage their role to be a sense of support for their children. While differing views on parenting can cause some tension in the parent-child relationship, this shift in roles allows grandparents to become a source of wisdom and calmness during the struggles of parenthood.
