Today’s Bible Story: I can thank God for family who help me.
Aaron Helps Moses • Exodus 17:8-13
Memory Verse: “Give thanks to the LORD for he is good.” Psalm 107:1, NIV
Key Question: Who is good?
Bottom Line: God is good.
“Give thanks (clap on each word)
to the Lord (point up)
for he is good, (two thumbs up)
Psalm 107:1 (NIV).” (Open your hands like a book.)
Ask these questions:
-
- What can you tell me about the story? Moses needed his brother, Aaron, and their friend, Hur, to help him keep his arms up. God had said that the Israelites would win the battle as long as Moses kept his arms up, but Moses got tired and needed help.
- Can you act out what it was like to be winning the battle when Moses’ arms were up and what it was like to be losing when his arms lowered?
- Do you think Moses was thankful for his brother’s help? Yes
- Do you think Aaron was glad he could help his brother? Yes
- God gives us family to help us because “Who is good?” God is good!
