Bible Story: Jesus loves me and wants to spend time with me. Mary and Martha • Luke 10:38-42
Memory Verse: “A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17, NIrV
Key Question: Who loves you?
Bottom Line: Jesus loves me.
Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can love God, love others, and love life.
MEMORY VERSE MOTIONS:
“‘A friend (hook your pointer fingers together) loves (hug yourself) at all times,’ (stretch your arms out and turn in a circle) Proverbs 17:17.” (Open hands like a book.)
ACTIVITY:
Have your kid stand up and say and do what you do to help them remember the Bible story.
Jesus went to see His friends. (Walk in place)
He wanted to spend time with them. (Continue walking in place)
Mary and Martha opened the door, (Pretend to open door)
but only Mary sat down with Him. (Sit down quickly)
Martha was way too busy. (Stand up and run in place)
She had cooking and cleaning to do. (Continue running in place)
And when she got upset with Mary, (Hands on hips, make angry face)
Jesus said, ‘I came to spend time with YOU.’” (Point to a friend and smile)
Jesus wants to spend time with me. (Point thumbs to chest)
He likes to listen and talk. (Cup hand behind ear)
I can be with Jesus anywhere! (Stretch arms out wide)
At home, in a car, or on a walk!” (Walk in place)
