Key Question: Why does learning to listen to God matter?
Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can trust God to guide me.
Ask:
- How can you hear from God?
- What is God like?
- Who can you talk to about hearing from God?
Week 2: May 12
Bible Story: You Say (The Lord’s Prayer) • Matthew 6:9-13
Key Question: How do you pray to God?
Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can trust God to guide me.
Ask:
- Do you ever feel intimidated or uncomfortable when you think about praying?
- In your life, who else do you see praying or talking to God? How do they do it?
- What is one time that you can set aside and commit to [Bottom Line] practice praying to God?
Week 3: May 19
Bible Story: Speak Now (Peter Says That Jesus Is the Messiah) • Matthew 16:13-20
Key Question: Who do you talk to about God?
Basic Truth: I am made for a purpose so I can tell people about God.
Ask:
- What’s the biggest thing that stops you from [Bottom Line] practicing talking about God?
- How can you get more comfortable talking about God?
Week 4: May 26
Bible Story: All I Have to Give (The Widow’s Offering) • Mark 12:41-44
Key Question: How can you live for God?
Basic Truth: I am made for a purpose so I can tell people about God.
Ask:
- What do you do now to [Bottom Line] practice living for God?
- As you get older, there are more opportunities to serve others as a way of living for God. What would you like to do this coming summer to live for God in a new way you haven’t done before?
