DISCUSSION

Life App: Compassion—Caring enough to do something about someone else’s need.

Bible Story: All I Need Is a Miracle (Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand) • John 6:1-13

Key Question: What do you have that you can use to help others?

Bottom Line: Use what you have to help others.

Basic Truth: I am made for a purpose so the Holy Spirit will help me do big things now.

Memory Verse: The LORD has shown you what is good. He has told you what he requires of you. You must act with justice. You must love to show mercy. And you must be humble as you live in the sight of your God. Micah 6:8 (NIrV)

Ask the following questions and lead the group to discuss:

  • What are things you like to do? Challenge kids to think of ways they can use what they enjoy doing to help others.
  • What is something you are good at? Challenge kids to think of ways they can use what they are good at doing to help others.
  • How could using what you have to help others make a difference in someone’s life?
  • What can you do when you want to help someone but you don’t think you have anything to offer?
