Monthly Virtue:Faith—Trusting in what you can’t see because of what you can see.

Memory Verse: God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. Ephesians 2:8 (NIrV)

Week 1: July 2- no services

Week 2: July 9

Bible Story: Salvation Is Here (Salvation Is God’s Gift) • Ephesians 2:8-9

Key Question: How do you feel when you get a gift? 

Bottom Line: Jesus is a gift for everyone. 

Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can be a part of God’s family forever. 

Askthe following questions and lead the group to discuss:    

    • Have you ever been offered a gift that you turned down? 
    • How do you feel when you get a gift? 
    • Is it difficult to accept that there’s nothing we can do to earn the gift of Jesus? Why or why not? 
    • What is grace, and what does it have to do with faith in Jesus? 

Week 3: July 16

Bible Story: The Perfect Storm (Paul Shipwrecked) • Acts 27:1–28:10

Key Question: What helps you remember that God is with you? 

Bottom Line: When bad things happen, God is with you. 

Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can trust God to guide me. 

Askthe following questionsand lead the group to discuss: 

  • Is there anyone in your life who you admire for their faith in God? If so, how do they keep their faith strong? 
  • What helps you remember God is with you? 
  • How do you typically respond when difficult things happen to you? 
  • When you have faith in God, do bad things happen less? Why or why not? 
  • How can our group here at church be a reminder that God is with you? 

Week 4: July 23

Bible Story: The Other Side (Heaven) • Revelation 21:3-5a

Key Question: What do you think Heaven will be like? 

Bottom Line: God will make everything right in the end. 

Basic Truth: I am loved by God no matter what so I can belong in God’s family forever. 

Askthe following questions and lead the group to discuss:    

  • What do you think heaven will be like?  
  • How does it make you feel that God has a place prepared for us to spend forever together?  
  • Do you believe heaven is a real thing? Why or why not?  
  • How can believing in heaven make our faith stronger? 

Week 4: July 30

Bible Story: We Belong Together (The Church) • Hebrews 10:23-25

Key Question: Who has encouraged you?

Bottom Line: Our faith is stronger together

Basic Truth: I can trust God no matter what. 

  • Look up the following verses and read aloud together:
    • Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
    • Proverbs 27:17
    • 1 Peter 4:10
  • Ask:
    • Through these verses, what does God want us to know about being in community and friendship with each other? (God wants us to encourage each other; we’re not meant to grow our faith without other people helping us; God gives us other believers to help grow our faith)
