Bible Story: God helps me stand strong. Armor of God • Ephesians 6:10-17
Memory Verse: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5, NIV
Key Question: Who can trust God?
Bottom Line: I can trust God.
Basic Truth: I am made for a purpose so the Holy Spirit will help me do big things now.
Memory Verse:
“Trust in the Lord (point up)
with all (arms out wide)
your heart,” (hands over heart)
Proverbs 3:5. (Open hands like a book.)
Ask/Do:
- Go around your house and find items that can be used (or transformed into) the following pieces of armor: helmet, shield, and breastplate. Grab a Bible if you have one.
- Tell your preschooler that you are going to put on the special armor that God gave us…like they learned in their Bible story today.
- Say the following for each piece:
- Helmet – When we trust that God loved us so much He sent Jesus to be our friend forever, it’s like wearing a helmet to protect us.
- Breastplate – When we trust God and go His way, it’s like wearing a breastplate to protect us.
- Shield – When we trust God, it’s like holding up a shield to protect us from danger.
- Bible – The Bible is like a sword. When we trust God and follow what He says, it helps us battle what is wrong and do what is right.
- Ask: Who can trust God? I can trust God.
